Cult of the Winter Winds

by Malacath

1.
The wailing of the lupine cries Upon the winds of death From the mountain's frosted peaks Comes father winters frozen breath An ode to the dying of the light A call to winter wolves below Awakening from dormant slumber Reborn anew the falling snow From the frozen forest floor Fiends of frost and ice emerge To satisfy their ancient hunger And bring about the winter scourge The numbing cold and winter winds The loveless face of death The triumph of the Boreal fiends And father winter's frozen breath Triumph against the light The triumph of death Triumph of the Boreal Wolves And father winters frozen breath
2.
Where not light nor warmth exist In desolate forest old Nor reprieve from the gusting winds And the biting bitter cold Not love nor life is there here In this isolated keep Where grief devours the heart of man And lulls hope back to sleep Where not even anger Can light the flame inside To illuminate the heart In which his hate resides Where there is only numbing Brought about by winter's wrath In solitary suffering On this forlorn winter path The numbing of the body And the silencing of mind The loss of all sensation The marching of the blind Upon this path he treads alone To answer the northern call As winter's hand sweeps across And brings death to us all To a barren land of snow and ice Far from the love of man To rest his bones and spirit now As death sweeps through the land
3.
Solemn they await for the dying of the light For the chilling of the air and the beckoning of night For the howls of the wind and the darkening of sky For the cloaking of the fog and the blinding of the eye Solemn they await for the breaking of the chains When the sun's light dims in the waning of the day In forlorn night beneath the palemoon's glow Among the shadows cast on ground below Ghosts circle the cemetery gates In silent desperation Necromantic rites Rituals of rotten flesh A call to the beyond The raising of the dead The breaking of the chains The quelling of the pain A call to the beyond The echo from the void The necromantic rites Rituals of rotten flesh The ceremony flame A life remade And as the smoke begins to rise A signal in the moonlit night From the ashes now reborn The wretched and forgotten Unchained from shackles That bind to unlife Silencing of the shade's lament The reckoning of fallen men Cursed no more to haunt Endlessly
4.
Shackled and bound In these chambers cold and wet The unforgiving stone resounds The faint lament of cruel regret Dispassionate resolve To crush the faintest hope of sight Will and soul slowly dissolve And give way to hopeless plight Shadowed apparitions rise And pull upon the tired chain Dragging towards quiet demise With not struggling or strain From the shadows of this cell Vengeance sings a soothing song To the cadence of the silent bells To end a suffering prolonged Reborn anew within its womb Vengeance nurtures new intent To crawl out from the weathered tomb And break the bindings of lament
5.
Floating Sphere of Mystery O, Thousand-faced Moon Ever weeping, Solitary in the Freezing Sky Ever tugging upon the waves To gently bring in the tide So cold his ruined face So pale the pitted flesh Rising each night to haunt And plot the Sun's death Alone knowing the true depths of Self Loathe As awakened each day in the barren wastes Waste not hope or promise here The graveyard where wishes reside Outside the Shadow of God Where the Adversary walks By the light of the Morning Star Where not even the longest arm of the Sun may reach Just another dying star Unwanted child of a sky that kills all it births The Moon shall see the Death of the Sun And Fall the Heavens And perish the Sun Let the soul drift Upon the Eldest Nocturne

Of abhorrent Life, is waiting
Sweet Oblivion, culminating
