about

A compilation of demo recordings for the songs that were initially intended to be my first full length album. Given the separation from the current place this project is heading, I have decided to release this as a free compilation. Count it as my first album if you wish. This is what it was going to be. Dedicated to my father, and to the memory of Vasiliki.

Track 1: Dismal Hymns - Written and recorded in 2014 for a demo tape of the rehearsal process for the album. The newest song.

Track 2: A Cold Wind Stirs - The first song I wrote for the project back in 2011. This version was recorded in 2014. First version released on the Profound Devilry demo.

Track 3: Bloodmoon - The second song I wrote for the project. Also initially released on the Profound Devilry demo. This recording was made in 2014.

Track 4: Awakening (Damnation) - Don't quite remember when I wrote this song, I was very involved with my other band at the time (as I still am). This is the only recording of the track that I had. It was done as a test of the four track I had just acquired. Recorded in 2013.

Track 5: A World Not Ready - The only official recording for the album that I ever made, though poorly mixed. Written sometime in the winter of 2013, recorded sometime thereafter. Second real test run of the four track.

Track 6: Funeral Tome - Initially this track wasn't supposed to be on the compilation, but given the fact that I managed to delete the only other recording I had for the last song intended on going on the album I threw this in. Recorded in 2013.

A special thank you goes out to all of those who gave me support and the few who wanted to hear the finished album. I wish it could have been what I wanted it to be, but I have moved on from where I was when these songs were written. They are an ode to a better time in black metal. A big FUCK OFF to the rest of the world.
